Synopsis
Rika Akiba is a seventeen-year-old girl who has spent most of her life hospitalized due to a genetic heart valve condition. She inherited this condition from her father, who died during surgery. Due to her hospitalization, Rika has no friends and spends her days reading books by her favorite author, Ryunosuke Akutagawa. She is accompanied by Yuuichi, another patient, at the request of the nurse Akiko. Dr. Natsume is Rika's personal doctor, with whom she shares a close relationship.
