Masaharu was Youji's best friend and lover. The two dated until Masaharu accepted to get married for his family's peace of mind. When they broke up, Masaharu expressed sadness that Youji hadn't allowed him to know him better. The two lost touch after the wedding, and Masaharu passed away five years prior.
